We welcome Maryam as PhD student in the group. Maryam will work on the synthesis and characterisation of biodegradable polymersomes.
.We're pleased to welcome Miko, our new addition to the group, fresh from MSc in chemistry degree in Oxford, Miko will join our efforts to make super-selective nanoparticles under an EPSRC studentship
Welcome to the group to Valentino, who joins us to undertake a PhD in collaboration with Giorgio Volpe and he'll be working on light-activated nanorobot (Sci-fi for phototactic nanoparticles).
Welcome to Barbara, who joins us to undertake a PhD co-sponsored by the EPSRC and Biocompatibles (part of BTG group). Barbara has collected over three of experience working on immunology and she's now bringing this to the group to attempt to develop new immune-therapies.
After two years in Berkeley, Dr Joe Forth is back in UK where he was born and raised. He joined our group as post doctoral research fellow working in the ERC funded research project on the development of new polymersomes patterns and topologies. Joe brings a lot of experience with soft materials and we're very keen to share our expertise with him. Welcome to the group!
After few years in sunny Santa Barbara, Dr Ian Williams decided to get back to the UK (his original home). He has joined us as post doctoral research fellow in October to work on the development of novel techniques to study and characterise chemotactic nanoparticles. Ian is a physicist by training and expert soft matterIST!. He will be working in our ERC-funded project and bridging his expertise in imaging and soft matter with brain delivery and synthetic biology. Welcome to the group
A warm welcome to Dr Diana Moreira Leite to the group. A bioengineer from Portugal, Diana L ( to distinguish from Diana M) got her PhD from the University of Portsmouth where she worked on the study and development of nano medicine for crossing the blood brain barrier. She is now a post doctoral research fellow working as a part of an ESPRC Healthcare Partnership with SomaNautix. DianaL 'll be a great addition to our brain delivery team (now 5 strong!).
